Background
In Romania, some of the last European primeval forests are illegally cut down day per day. Many people even do not know that there are still primeval forests in Europe or that their remnants are being destroyed right at the moment.
Idea
With "Screaming Trees" Havas Düsseldorf and Agent Green wanted to clear up this injustice and raise awareness across national boundaries for the issue - this is a common heritage and local state apparatuses as well as any European citizen have responsibility to act instead of just watching it disappear. These delicts take place in silence that's why Havas Düsseldorf decided to team up with Romanian NGO Agent Green and give the trees their own voice.
Results
For this cause, an own smart device was developed that detects chainsaw sound patterns in the environment. When detected, a warning signal is send out by the device to authorities nearby to enable fast help for the trees.
