Background

Still one out of four women in Europe are victims of domestic violence. The Verein Wiener Frauenhäuser (women's shelter Vienna) is a non governmental organization, which helps affected women to find their way out of this difficult situation by giving them a save place to stay and supporting those women with their children to start a new life.

Idea

Domestic violence against women is still a taboo, which society ignores up to this date. To increase the awareness of the topic in society and to encourage everybody to intervene when they come across violence against women, the agency triggered people at exactly that point, where we all ignore before watching: At youTube pre-roll advertising. The agency created a special youTube pre-roll ad, which nobody ever dares to skip. And so the creative team sent a powerful message not only with the content but also with the unusual use of media. The viewer himself was confronted with the inner conflict of either clicking away the pre-roll or staying with the woman.
