Background
There are plenty alternatives to plastic shopping bags, but the thin plastic bags for fruits and vegetables are still used by the billions. Each of them pollutes our nature up to 500 years.
Idea
The first plastic bag that gives life instead of taking it was developed: FEEDitBAG is not only bio-degradable in 10 weeks – it even grows food with integrated seeds.
The bag is made of Mater-Bi, which is based on renewable resources and printed with water-based colours. All components, from bag to sticker are 100% bio-degradable, even in water. Its unique design makes hungry for the fruits and vegetables that it grows. This way, FEEDitBAG doesn’t only reduce the plastic waste, it also gives something back to nature.
Results
1.2+ million supporters 150,000 plastic bags less per month and market competitive manufacturing cost through high consumption other grocery chains are interested to launch FEEDitBAG
