Background

A new generation has risen and is disrupting the traditional ways of working. They don’t keep to any clock. Work and play have become the same when striving to break new ground. And, because they are always-on, they need technology that’s powerful enough to keep up with them. The all-powerful Samsung Galaxy Note9 is the perfect tool for those who demand more out of life

Idea

To demonstrate this power, the idea was to partner with a next generation achiever who’s pushing the boundaries of street art. Buff Diss is an Australian artist whose created a unique brand of art solely through the medium of tape, one of only a handful in the world to do so. To create a buzz around the Galaxy Note 9 launch and drive excitement instore, the idea was to create an art exhibition across all Samsung Experience Stores where each bespoke piece was designed and powered by the Note 9. Mounted below was a blurb describing the inspiration behind the artwork. For an interactive gallery experience a QR code was fitted that when activated, played a documentary about the artist, his inspiration and how he interacted with the phone. The content was then used to create social media posts where behind the scenes, the gallery pieces and the benefits of the phone’s features were showcased.

Results

• 19% increase in Apple switch rate.

• No.1 spot with 53.9% market share.

• 4672 YouTube views on launch weekend.

• Foot traffic instore up by 41% vs Note 8.

• Note 9 sales 11% increase vs Note 8.
