Background
The printing house Rehms Druck GmbH has developed over the past years from a small company with a regional client base to a national specialist for specific marketing and advertising solutions. Rehms is known as an expert in packaging solutions and the agency was charged with developing a campaign to help win new customers. They needed to visualise to the target group the innovative possibilities in packaging solutions offered by the printing house.
Idea
B&F's solution for visually communicating Rehms' expertise was to turn the product itself into the mailing. The recipient could thereby experience the three-dimensional packages not just through images, but also in the original itself. Based on this idea, they created a miniature wooden euro-pallet, hand made by a joinery, along with a delivery box. Inside the box was a hardback book presenting across 60 pages Rehms' wide range of packaging, transport and display solutions. A second floor within the box contained five more real packaging samples, bringing to life the illustrations in the book.

Our Thoughts
I can’t remember the last time I saw a packaging company use DM. Banking, insurance, cars yes. Packaging, no. It makes it doubly hard to do interesting work if there are no precedents for you to follow but – and glory be, they were given the money to do it properly – the team here have come up with a beautifully crafted pack. I loved the attention to detail, the fact it all rested on a miniature pallet.
